The Offshore Wind Fatigue Research Forum is an international collaborative initiative established to advance the fatigue design and life assessment of offshore wind welded structures. The Forum facilitates knowledge exchange, identifies and prioritises research gaps, supports the development of joint research projects and funding proposals, and shares progress through annual meetings. Its working group includes members from the University of Birmingham, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, the DLR Institute of Maritime Energy Systems, University of Bochum, the University of Stuttgart, Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences, OCAS, Eindhoven University of Technology, TWI, Kent, and Fraunhofer.

The COST Action CA25138, Secure and Adaptive Frameworks for Environmentally Sustainable Offshore WIND Expansion (SAFEWIND), is a European research and innovation network bringing together experts from academia, industry and other stakeholder organisations to support the safe, resilient and sustainable expansion of offshore wind. The network currently has Management Committee representation from 26 European countries and addresses the multidisciplinary challenges associated with the rapid growth of offshore wind. By identifying gaps in data, knowledge, regulation and best practice, SAFEWIND aims to develop collaborative research roadmaps and strengthen the foundations for safe, sustainable and digitally enabled offshore wind deployment across Europe.
